Southeast Georgia Communities Project

SEGCP provides health information and links clients to local resources for primary healthcare services. Our focus is to have available information on Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiovascular diseases, Healthy Eating & HIV. SEGCP is a testing site and offers free HIV testing and counseling.

Through the help of youth volunteers, we are able to provide over 400 families with food baskets at our monthly food drive thru. Green-teen girls prepare baskets with healthy recipe distribution to encourage families to prepare health meals for their families.

SEGCP also works close with the Expanded Food & Nutrition Program to bring local families education on how to eat healthy on a budget. this is a 8 week / 1 day a week program that teaches all about good nutrition, portion control, and weight management. This program is offered every 3 months to local residents in our community. Programs are organized by SEGCP, and Trainer Fani Orellao comes to provide this amazing and popular 1 hour session a week for 8 weeks. Participants receive weekly kitchen utensils and a food demonstration, plus amazing recipes.
